Introductory Instruction

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts! The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
  1. Knowledge Development - learn and understand the basic principles of scuba diving (book or eLearning)
  2. Confined Water Dives - learn basic scuba skills in a Pool
  3. Open Water Dives - put your skills to use and explore a quarry, lake, or the ocean!

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course, or a Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be at least 10 years old. You must possess adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

PADI Open Water Diver course gives you the background information you need to dive safely. You will learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, and a tank. Upon completion of your PADI Open Water Certification you will be able to dive into fresh or sea water to a depth of 60 ft. This certification is good for your entire life as long as you are in good health!

Included in our PADI Open Water Diver course is your scuba instruction, learning materials, air fills, use of equipment, and weights.

NOT included is personal gear, including but not limited to a mask, fins, snorkel, wet suit rental, if needed, and entrance fees for the Open Water portion of your certification, if applicable. However, we can provide provide help to identify the best gear or brand for you.
